A four-part docuseries chronicling the rise of Birdman, Slim, and Cash Money Records called “New Cash Order” will premiere on Spotify this week.
Slim and Birdman will be premiering a four-part docuseries about the rise of Cash Money Records called New Cash Order on Spotify this week. On Wednesday, Spotify dropped the trailer for the exciting new series, which chronicles the legendary label’s co-founders’ journey to success. According to a press release, New Cash Order “tells the genesis story of Cash Money Records’ meteoric rise to success” through interviews and archival footage, which will “unveil never-before-seen takes behind the million-dollar deals that have maintained Cash Money as a label standing the test of time.” Through firsthand accounts, the series will explore how the brother-duo landed “the historical Universal Music Group deal” and will go into detail about “the creative processes that pioneered the success of the label’s artists like Juvenile, Lil Wayne, Drake and Nicki Minaj.” It will also go in depth about the label’s impact on the new wave of artists today, including signees like Blueface and Jacquees.

Cash Money Records Announces Their New Docuseries With Spotify, ‘New Cash Order
Cash Money Records has been responsible for signing some of rap’s most successful artists over the past two decades. While the label’s shine hasn’t been as bright over the last few years, their influence remains unblemished. Standing at the helm of it all, brothers Bryan “Birdman” Williams and Ronald “Slim” Williams are responsible for bringing talents like Lil Wayne, Drake, and Nicki Minaj to the forefront of rap. Now the brothers will account for the past, present, and future of the label in an upcoming docuseries.
Later this month, Cash Money Records will premiere New Cash Order, which will follow the rise of the Williams brothers from their time as New Orleans project owners to lording over one of the biggest record labels in history. The series will also cover their historical deal with Universal Music Group, the signing and success of high profile acts like Drake, Wayne, Minaj, and Juvenile, and finally, their current standing with acts like Blueface and Jacquees.
New Cash Order was originally rumored to be released through a partnership with Apple, but Spotify managed to take it over, scheduling it to be drop on their platform.

The firsthand history of Cash Money Records will be detailed in a brand new four part series titled New Cash Order, presented by Spotify and due out this Friday, February 21 via the streaming service’s popular RapCaviar imprint.
New Cash Order will focus on the New Orleans-based label’s formation and rise to the top of the hip-hop world, spanning over three decades thanks to the visionary planning by brothers Birdman and Slim. The trailer details the key talent acquisitions, from recognizing the foundational importance of Lil Wayne and Juvenile during the mid-90s Hot Boys era to the continuation of cultivating new and important voices like Drake and Nicki Minaj later in the label’s history.

Spotify is working on a new documentary series about the history of Cash Money Records. The four-part series is titledNew Cash Order and it will narrate the label’s history and accomplishments through a series of interviews and archive footage.
The streaming platform has also released a two-minute trailer featuring interview snippets with Cash Money Records co-founders (and brothers) Ronald “Slim” Williams and Bryan “Birdman” Williams. In the documentary, the Williams brothers discuss founding the label in 1991, the early days of Lil Wayne and Juvenile, signing their $30 million deal with Universal in ‘98, and managing groundbreaking acts such as Drake and Nicki Minaj.
Elsewhere, the docu-series will see appearances from current Cash Money artists such as Jacquees and Blueface. New Cash Order will be available to stream starting tomorrow, February 21, exclusively on Spotify.
