In his music, G Baby serves up a statement of truth while he raps about the life of an underdog; the trials & tribulations with clarity, charisma, and confidence.

Born and raised in King County, Georgia, hip-hop only played a minor role in G Baby’s growing up. Despite listening to Young Jeezy, The Notorious B.I.G., and Tupac, he primarily focused most of his attention on baseball. It was his younger brother Ricky who constantly tried to encourage him to rap. Sometimes, he’d humor Ricky with a freestyle at home, but it never went beyond that. Everything changed in 2019, when Ricky passed away; his passing sent G Baby’s world into a tailspin.

G Baby introduced himself on the independent single “What You Gone Do.” As he fueled a local buzz, multi-platinum rapper Derez De’Shon took a liking to G Baby’s music and shared it with his manager June Jonez. They passed it on to Cash Money Records co-founder and Grammy Award-nominated rap icon Bryan ‘Birdman’ Williams, who invited G Baby to Miami and signed him in 2020.

“There’s a lot of pain and truth in G Baby’s music, says Birdman. You can tell how honest it is and that honesty is what inpressed me. I know he’s going to be a voice for this generation, and we’re going to give him the platform to do so.”
